Group 3 Reflections
I first wanna talk about my group which is group three. Group three discussed Group Leadership and Problem Solving and my group did a very good job in talking about it detail by detail. We grouped up our partners by two people each and then we had each of us do a sub heading to break down the work a bit. In doing this, we made it easier for us to work and everybody had the chance in participating equally. We also covered on how the chapter talks about analyzing, diagnosing, and dealing with problems. In a group leader ship you have to go through five steps in learning the objectives then last you make the decision. I like how we presented I feel like we gave in some funny clips in explaining the do's and don'ts in being a good leader and how to solve problems. We talked about how being an active listener and having great creativity which are part of key solving problems we need to look out for. I liked my group it's almost as if we are a good example of group leadership. We discuss and build up to decide on how and what we will present.
Group one talked about intercultural communication. Group one had a nice presentation. We learned that communication isn't only about language it also has to do with a person's cultural backgrounds. Group one talked about the way our body language, our attitudes, and how we express ourselves with creating patterns thats gives us characteristics helps us form into the people we are and that sometimes being nonverbal can create a language between people we know. This helps us connect with one another. And thats what cultural communicating is. Cultures rely heavily on nonverbal communication, and deep cultural knowledge to share meanings and Group one pointed that out with videos that showed us how communicating with people from different backgrounds is all about intercultural communication. They were an organized group I really like how they broke up the presentation and how they made it very understanding. I learned that intercultural communication plays a role in social sciences such as anthropology, cultural studies, linguistics, psychology, and communication studies.
Group two's presentation brought out a lot of information on group communication. They went over that when working in a type of group like being an employee, it's important for each individual to have strong group communication skills. They talked about the don'ts of group communication, in result your team and yourself will have misunderstandings with one another if you find yourself having weak group communication skills. Exchanging information can help build up a goal. It can be for an example, a business goal. The way you communicate can also affect how you send messages, that's where communication. The message may be lost if there are chances that different styles in communication aren't understood. Group two covered that there are two aspects in group communication and that the messages that are being exchanged identify wether the group is a social group or a task group.
